{5 Lovely Things on Monday}

This post goes out to all of my savvy sistas!!

There is so much loveliness on the internet & I very much appreciate when my friends & family share their discoveries with me.  With that being said, I hope you enjoy the below finds as much as I did!!

{1} ModCloth

Thanks to Nicole Geffrey my next paycheck is in jeopardy...
Check out ModCloth's website & creative blog for a very fun collection of
Mod Retro Vintage Clothing. Think Urban Outfitters meets Anthro= perfection.

Now if only I could pull off a fascinator like this...

{2} Elle Apparel

My bestie Ellen Krause pointed me to this lovely blog.
She has a ton of free skirt tutorials I want to try (in all my free time).
How fun is this Pinwheel Skirt?

{4} Sweet Something Designs

While conjuring ideas for a fireplace makeover another Krause lady (Mary)
pointed me to Michelle Edward's blog. And while this project is no longer on my "to-do" list I adore trolling through Michelle's great Before & After projects. My favorite is her hutch makeover!!

{5} FREE TUTORIALS!
Who doesn't love a good freebie, right?
Naturally, my frugal sister Jenna pointed me towards a collection of free tutorials.
On my 30 Before 30 List I want to refinish a piece of furniture & I'm thinking this how-to could be the means to checking that off my list!!

A special thanks to all my ladies that made this post possible-- YOU ROCK.

{5 Lovely Things on Monday}

Today all things lovely come from finds during my MT travels this past week!

{1} Beth Springer Handbags
I should probably preface this with the fact that I got this bag 75% off at a boutique in Missoula
and her non-sale items are most definitely not in my budget.
Regardless, she has a great concept & design aesthetic.

{2} EOS strikes again
You may recall a previous post including a lip balm by EOS.
Well it turns out their shaving cream is pretty fantastic too!
(found this on a quick Target run in Bozeman)

{3} COLD SMOKE

This Montana girl likes a good brew,
especially Cold Smoke by KettleHouse that has a smooth coffee-ish finish.

{4} Woodbine Falls
An easy hike with 300ft elevation gain to a lookout!

{5} Exploring the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness in Meriweather (my VW Passat)!
note: videos of this production to follow once they upload- it's taking forever!!!

And yes, that IS a GRIZZLY BEAR!!

Mama's Got a Brand New Bag!

Well the adventures of Mara, Stacy & Willis most certainly continue... Thursday we had a lovely, drizzly day in Missoula. We enjoyed a trip to the U of M bookstore (which took us ruhtards entirely too long to find- we decided that we are clearly not smart enough to attend there), some shopping, good local brew & excellent company.

The craptastic highlight was getting a flat driving home from my cousin's last night. This resulted in waiting forty-five minutes for AAA in a stranded Sinclair station on some frontage road. Luckily, a delightful tow truck dude helped us out & we were able to make the two minute drive to our hotel. Stacy put it best when she called him "colorful"...

Ok so on to the really good stuff that actually applies to my crafty skills. The true highlight of the day was seeing my bff Kristin & her new little man, Jamisen!!

And I got to hand-deliver Kristin her baby shower gift!!

Here is the new mama sporting her handmade diaper bag
This bag's pattern is called "Favorite Things" by Mama Mia. Although the end result turned out nice, I would not recommend this pattern to my fellow sewers. Even my mom- a well-accomplished seamstress- had a hard time helping me where I got stuck. However, I'm quite proud of my efforts to make a more complicated bag for such a good friend.

A total of EIGHT pockets for mommy to put all the essentials!

wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities.

So with that heartwarming sentiment I bid you goodnight from my folks' place nestled in Montana's gorgeous Stillwater Valley.

Wednesdays with Willis

Today at high noon Stacy, Willis, & I piled into Meriweather (my Passat) & headed East.
We were Big Sky bound...

Willis had the pleasure of stretching his legs in the back seat for 500+ miles & was very tolerant of us belting out the tunes to our Big Sky Ballin' playlist (yes, I came up with its clever name;).

The most eventful part of Will's trip today was "checking in" at the hotel. We are still unclear if it's ok to have dogs in here so hopefully Willis keeps his woofing in check. I brought the citronella collar just in case- not like it works anyway... So moving along, instead of taking our things up to the room first then going back to get Willis we decided to make one trip. Genius.

Seriously ladies? What the hell are you thinking?

Between our multiple bags, Will getting tangled amongst our legs with his leash & me trying to open the wrong hotel room we were a hot mess. But at least we arrived in one piece with smiles on our faces.

g'night peeps,

{5 Lovely Things on Monday}

First of all, what a GLORIOUS weekend we had!
Weather like this makes the gloomy season totally worth it in the Northwest.

{1} Pacifica's Coconut Crush Pearl Bronzing Body Butter

I snagged this @ Sephora Saturday & cannot find it anywhere online.
That is how FRESH this lovely item is :)
{2} ANTHRO'S summer dresses
Yay for weather suitable to wear flirty dresses!

{3} Flasks by Whimsy & Dink!
Check out their ETSY store to view tons
of custom decorated flasks- also perfect for summer!

{4} Ketti Handbags

Seattle-based designer who makes handbags with photographers in mind.
So what if I'm not a photographer-- I still want one!!

{5} Mama, I'm Comin' Home!
This week the roomies & I are roadtripin' to the Big Sky State.
I cannot wait to spend some R&R with the family at our
place in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness
