A Bit of Disaray

Just a quick note to apologize to those readers who have been looking in on me today. My blog is getting some tweaks so bare with me!!

{Honeymoon Tote}

Let the Sea of Lovely flow...
My first sewing order- albeit simple- is complete!!

A few months ago a co-worker came to me requesting a custom gift for her sister-in-law who is getting married this fall.  She had the idea for a tote that was designed based on the wedding's theme: black and white damask with purple accents.  The idea was that the B2B would use it on her honeymoon.

The hardest part of this project was finding the perfect damask & purple home decor-weight fabrics.  After those details were nailed down it was onto finding a pattern.  And thanks to my mommy friends who introduced me to Sew, Mama Sew finding the perfect tutorial was a snap. So there you have it, my friends!

Can you see the invite peaking out of the pocket?
...didn't think so

{5 Lovely Things on Monday}

{1} Handyman Coat Rack
Since committing to my own place that is old & naturally has little closet space I've been
scouring the web for creative ways to display what would otherwise be tucked away.
Found this in a simple google search at coolmaterial & the boyfriend says
he can help make it for much less than the $191 they were charging!

{2} Angle Nesting Shelves
Had seen these in West Elm's catalog a time or two;
now they're on sale!

{3} Anthro Strikes Again
...I WANT TO RECREATE.
Last week Anthro was featured in GLO for their whimsical displays
titled: From Retail to Your Room

{4} Boating on the South Sound
with friends

...and we made a few new buddies along the way too!!

{5} A Girl's Best Friend
My BROTHER, Janey, & a fabulous new cocktail:
white wine with frozen mango chunks :)
SO delish on a hot day after work...
Hope your Mondays is going swimmingly & just think...you (well most of you) have a long weekend ahead of you!

Wednesdays with Willis

It's been a while since Mr. Furball has been featured on Lucy Says. And for that, I apologize as I know you're all wondering what he's been up to.  Well, he's been playing house...

This snap couldn't be more appropriate as I'm proud to announce that Willis & I are getting our own place.  We will be moving into a lovely circa-1899 apartment complex that is less than
a ten minute walk from my work.

Three cheers for vintage loveliness!!

While I couldn't have asked for a better "landing pad" living with Jade & Stacy,
 it's time to start this new chapter with a clean slate & my own space.
Stay tuned for many projects to unfold in my new found home :)
happy hump day,
lucy.

{A WHOLE LOT-o-Loveliness}

     Today I can't narrow it down to just five lovely things as I just spent last weekend at the 4th Annual DoeBayFest.  It was a stretch of blissfully sunny days filled with great music, beautiful scenery and friends.  Without further adieu I give you a series of photos that illustrate my weekend on Orcas Island at Doe Bay Resort & Retreat:
Listen to music with a view like this? Yes, please

Mama Ellen & the star of every set, Leo
A happy accident while playing with a new photo app on my phone
I've known these peeps since I was 8--
look how grown up we are!
Capturing the scenery with vintage film

Pickwick- before they invited too many people onto the stage & broke it
The Head & the Heart- front row
I really like this shot of Charity from THATH

{5 Lovely Things on Monday}

{1} Apt 205 Necklace
Meet my favorite new necklace! I scored this at the Fremont Market yesterday.
Krissy Maier of Orange Box Jewelry does a great job at repurposing vintage pieces :)

{2} Retro MB t-shirt sighting!
Also spotted at the Fremont Market.
I would've totally picked it up; alas, it was too small :(

{3} Another Market Find
The boyfriend got a screaming deal on this
circa-1930's brass liquor dispenser

{4} Hand Rake Bar Maid
Via Pinterest I found this loveliness!
Photo courtesy of Endless Inspiration. Sadly, unsure who to give photo cred to.

{5} More Pickwick Goodness
This was filmed 7/20/11 at KEXP.
If you haven't discovered these peeps yet please check 'em out.
I'll be seeing them play again at DoeBay Fest next week!!

And with these fun finds I leave you with this:

"Happiness often sneaks through a door you didn't know you left open."

{5 Lovely Things on Monday}

{1} Brandi Carlile at ZooTunes...
not to mention surprise guest Dave Matthews!!
This was epic & has been the highlight of my summer thus far.
A special thanks to the boyfriend for hooking me up with a lovely date who had extra tickets :)

{2} My New Hat :)
Thank you Goorin Bros. for making such sassy accessories

{3} My First Custom Order...
A co-worker has asked me to make a tote for her sister-in-law who is getting married this September.  The plan is for it to match her wedding's design scheme:
I've got the fabric ordered, pattern picked out & am ready to do work!

{4} Hurray for Pretty Fat Quarters!
Just cuz...variety is the spice to life, right?
I've mentioned before that I adore Anna Maria Horner's Innocent Crush line (fat quarters shown above) &
I might've purchased these today just so I could get free shipping on an order...

{5} Fat Quarter Projects
Sew Mama Sew Strikes Again! This is most definitely a bookmark-worthy page!
A lot of these projects have me excited but I'm most looking forward to making "softies"--
otherwise known as "plushies". I have a pattern drafted to make whale plushies & I'm looking forward to the day I get to make my first couple I've already named "Willard" & "Wilma".

Please note, I have this upcoming Tuesday free with absolutely NO plans except to bond with my BROTHER, Janey (that would be my sewing machine;)
